Who We Are
Sensing Technologies — A Division of MCS
Sensing Technologies is a proud division of Micro Control Systems (MCS), specializing in the design and manufacture of high-quality temperature sensors and probe assemblies for demanding applications across multiple industries. Our Florida-based team brings deep engineering expertise to every project, from a single custom prototype to high-volume production runs.
For more than thirty years, our engineers have partnered with customers across HVAC/R, medical, food service, pool and spa, automotive, and defense sectors to deliver precision sensing solutions. Quality and collaboration define everything we do. Every temperature measurement application is unique, and our strength lies in working closely with customers — from concept through production — to developing sensors and probe assemblies that perform reliably in the real world.
As a division of MCS, we offer a uniquely integrated capability: pairing precision sensing with advanced microprocessor-based control systems. Customers benefit from a fully integrated solution — precision sensors and intelligent controls, designed and supported under one roof in Fort Myers, Florida. This combination gives our customers a single trusted source for complete sensing and control solutions that drive greater efficiency, reliability, and system performance.
Our Heritage
Founded in Fort Myers, Florida
Sensing Technologies is founded in Fort Myers, Florida, with a focus on custom temperature sensing elements for the HVAC/R industry. Early products establish a reputation for accuracy, repeatability, and rugged construction.
Expanding Into New Markets
Product lines expand to serve safety related applications such as nuclear HVAC, food service equipment OEMs, automation and control system OEMS, and the growing pool and spa sector. Custom probe assemblies become a signature capability, with enclosures and termination options tailored to each customer's exact requirements.
Harsh Environment & High-Temperature Leadership
Sensing Technologies deepens its relationships with automotive, defense, and geothermal system manufacturers. Platinum RTD elements and high-temperature probe assemblies rated to 600°C enter the standard product offering, alongside an expanded NTC thermistor portfolio covering –40°C to +150°C. STI becomes the brand of choice for made in the USA, harsh environment sensors.
A Division of MCS
Now a division of Micro Control Systems, Sensing Technologies, combines three decades of sensing expertise with MCS's proven microprocessor-based control technology. Through our integration with MCS, we are also part of Kitchen Brains, a global leader in intelligent control systems for the food service industry. In March of 2026, Sensing Technologies invested in additional production automation equipment and engineering R&D capabilities for increased efficiencies and expanded capacity.
